Coolest mod... ever!

This is the coolest mods I have seen in a long time. I mean, really, how did someone discover this? Maybe some guy was eating mints, then, his Zen Micro just fell in, and bam, inspration struck. Or maybe not. Either way, this is way cool.

Basically, people are modding the little mint cans (Like Altoids) and cutting out headphone ports, lining the inside with foam, etc. and placing their Zen inside. Some look really sweet, but I'm going to let you check them out over at Head-Fi. Special thanks to Head-Fi member Anty for the photo.

Makes me want to go out and buy a Zen Micro just so I can do this. Of course, I would have to get a mint tin that matches the DAP.

Its just that the size is so perfect for it. Its like it was made to fit into Altoids cans or something.

wonder if the altoids guys will start making their cases bigger to fit ipod minis. If they can tap that market as well.

I bet all micro owners are buying altoids just to slide their players in them.

How about potential micro owner buying micro just to fit into tin cases?

I wonder if a H10 will fit into a tin.

Its quite subtle, you might not get it nicked if you get mugged too as the guy will just think its your pack of mints, unless the muggar is addicted to altoids, then you're screwed but he's probably far more likely to be addicted to crack than altoids!!!!!

ya like soundofdeath said, a smart mint manufacturer would emediately start making mint cases the same size as the ipod and ipod mini, actually jolly ranchers should do it because everyone likes the green apple flavour best anyways so if they made a tin of "apple" candies they would be flying off the shelves givin it was the correct size. if only i owned a candy company, damn it my career councilors totally steared me away from my childhood dreams.

i had a better mod back in the day. if anyone remembers the old iydkydg promotion from coke, they sent out cards in a metal tin. it was the perfect size for the old game boy advance. now the case has tons of dents in it, but the gba is in perfect condition.

A mint company woudn't make much off that. They'd only sell a few thousand units becuase of it, then the people wouldn't ever buy the mints again.

Please does anyone have a similar home made case for idea for iPod G3? I am sick of the sticky silicon case that I bought. And most cases out there are not available for the 3G iPod

You can't put the iPod mini in it because it doesn't fit because it's too big. Trust me, my friend tried and then I flaunted it in her face. =P
