The LDP-800 does it all, featuring an integrated FM Transmitter, FM Radio, voice recording, line-in recording, charge-over-USB, a built-in battery good for 14 hours playback, has an OLED screen and SD card slot, plus support for MP3, WMA, WMA DRM10/JANUS, and OGG codecs. Available at the end for March in 256mb (MSRP $ 160) and 512mb (MSRP $ 200) with higher capacities to follow later. Lots of good accessories come with it: MX400 earbuds, an external atanna, a case and lanyard in addition to the regular stuff. We'll point out that MX400 earbuds are one of the better models you can get, usually sell for $ 10 to $ 15 on thier own, and the bundled antanna is a nice touch.
The
press release also mentions the player uses "Emersys EMX audio technology to provide a realistic 3-D sound stage while using 2-channel audio" ... whatever that means. Probably something like the SRS WOW effect used in iRiver and Samsung players. One other thing - apparently the FM transmitter function will not be available in European markets, likely due to strict laws that vary from country to country.

Looks cool, but twice the price of Sandisk/Shuffle? Guh.
