Even more goodness from Sony: the NW-E405, E407

OK, just one more thing to mention out of that product information book of Sony's. The NW-E40x series is similiar to other new products with native ATRAC3 and MP3 play, a lightweight design (37g), and high-speed charging. It also features a 3-line OLED screen and a built-in lithium battery good for up to 50 hours of playback. WMA and WAV "compatability" is through transcoding with SonicStage only. While it's not listed among the features, you can clearly see an "FM" button on the player's face, so we'll assume it has a radio reciever as well.

The NW-E407 line has 1gb capacity while the E405 line has 512mb. There's no 256mb version at this time. Each is available in black, blue, red, or green. Price unknown, but you know it won't be cheap.

if these were drag and drop i would need to have one, i have never been so turned onto a players looks, specifically that silver one. i just wish sony would bite the bullet and price them to meet the i shuffle but i doubt thats gonna happen im sure these will cost more than the iaudio flash players.

This would probably cost lesser coz it looks 'cheaper' than the other model...

Somebody was mentioning about Sony's naming conventions...thats probably coz Sony floods the market with variations and updates. So having a name like SonyPill or something wouldn't work.
Anyone who's used their walkmans (the cassette and discs) would know. Variations include differences in color, accessories included, features like fm, etc)...

I think it could be that the 505 is only up to 512MB while this one is up to a GB of storage.

there is a writeup of it here

Really cool player this one! You can already (pre)order them at a shop in Holland. The NW-E405 costs € 151,00 and the NW-E407 € 196,00. This is shop is not very cheap with other players (Zen Micro is € 284,00 while you can get the Micro for about € 225,00 and the NW-E99 is € 221,00 while you can get that for about € 180,00)
