 | | Ok, so this won't interest most people here, but it might interest those with kids. I was reading the paper this morning, and read about the CoolP3 player (Is that the new marketing ploy, to incorporate the word MP3 into your music player name?. First the SwiMP3 player now this).
Anyways, this thing is a basic mp3 player, holds about an hour of music, so I'm guessing its a 128MB. It comes with little candy colored headphones, and a parental volume control, so you kids don't damage their ears. It has a large durable design, as you can see from the picture. The price is actually pretty decent, at $ 30 bucks. Not bad to keep your kids quite. But the thing that caught me eye, was the age they were targeting. Ages 4-8 years old. Maybe its just me, but a couple years ago, if you told me that people would be buying mp3 players for their 4 year old kids, I would tell them they had too much money. In a couple more years, can we expect DAP's like the iPod, iRiver, and Creative, among others, to create hard drive players for little kids? |

Heh, looks 'cool.' With flash memory prices dropping, I do think it's not too far off when we'll see dirt cheap flash players made specifically for younger kids.
