CarryMedia's PVR range: CMF-200 and CMG-200

More PMP-related stuff to report on - we'll take a quick look at CarryMedia's multimedia-related products. Quite nice at first glance, actually. The company has already rebranded AVTech's DM-something player and calles it "CJ-120". We can move past that and proceed to the next unit, "CMF-200". There are two editions of this player available. Type A (top of picture on the right)offers some interesting specifications:
  • Video playback: MPEG-4 (AVI,ASF,MP4), DivX Ver. 4.0,5.03 - VGA @ 30 fps/ 4 Mbps
  • Video record: MPEG-4 (ASF) - VGA @24 fps/ 5 Mbps
  • Audio support, playback: MPEG-1 Layer 3 (MP3) 32~320kbps, WAV
    record: line in/MIC (WAV)
  • Image playback: Baseline JPEG, Zoom in/out, shift – up, down, left, right, Baseline JPEG slide show with MP3 - Resolution 6M pixels
  • FM radio, timer clock alarm with MP3 or FM radio mode
  • Display resolution: 960*240
  • 3.5 inch TFT-LCD with LED backlight
  • NTSC/PAL-out through 3.5 mm audio/video jack, AV-in through one 3.5mm audio/video jack
  • Micro speaker 0.5W (mono)
  • Storage: Built-in 1.8-inch HDD, SD slot for expansion
  • Connectivity: USB 2.0 through mini USB jack
  • Lithium rechargeable battery: 3.7V 2200mAh (built-in), charge time +/- 3 hours
  • Concept A Dimension: 131 x 83 x 26mm
  • From what I can see on those pics, a 3.2MP built-in camera is also included
The whole thing isn't ready for production yet, so no SRP or anything like that yet. Battery life seems to be unknown as well.

Type B (at the bottom of the first picture) seems like a somewhat more compact version of the above-mentioned model. It measures 116 x 83 x 31mm, making it thicker but a quite smaller in length. The only sacfrifice I could spot would be the 1.3MP built-in camera, instead of Type-A's 3.2MP version. Oh, and there's very "spacy" navigation lay-out to distinct the two units from one another as well, of course .

Finally, there's the CMG-200. Definately weird-looking, this one - resembles more to a PDA than a true PMP/PVR, you'd say.

Although the exterior certainly cannot be compared to that of the previous two models, CMG-300's internals are likely to be inspired by the CMF-200. A few differences can be seen when looking closely: the CMG comes with a smaller screen (obviously because of the navigational lay-out), which is 2.5-inch in diameter and supports resolutions up to 480 x 234 pixels. I'm guessing that the product's page bottom pic is just a mistake (actually showing CFM-200B's backside), but it could come with a built-in 1.3MP as well. Unfortunately, no dimensions or weight specifications have been given yet.

All of CarryMedia's units will come with some standard accessories: USB 2.0 cable, DC adapter, stereo earphones, A/V composite cable (RCA to 3.5mm jack) and Ulead Video toolbox 2(convert software for WMV, VOB, MPEG, DAT…etc). User guides are also included and there'll be an optional carry case plus hand strap available... if these PVR's will ever make it to anywhere, that is.
