CeBIT 2005: The Toshiba that almost got away
comment: 2 | Tuesday, March 15 (2005) 07:08AM | Posted by Robert Sinke
We wanted to see Toshiba's progress and prospects on distribution of their F-series GigaBeat across the world, of course. Little did we know that their personell knew even less than we already did (that's a confusing sentence). "Excuse me sir? Digital Audio Player? MP3? What do you mean? No, I don't think we've got one of those laying around" - that's a rep speaking. Nice going, Toshiba.

Anyway, it turned out that they did have something on display we hadn't seen before - a 4GB Shuffle-like DAP with BlueTooth. Eh... yeah, very weird. This picture on the left was taken from AV Watch japan - it shows what we guess would have to be the main unit (the blobby thing with the lights on it) and a remote control. Also notice that this unit supposedly is SD-expandable.

this one uses 0.85inch 4G hard drive...
Toshiba and Samsung displayed their 0.85inch hard drives and expect to start production by end of this year or next year
