What, noone noticed these babies popping up yet? Seems that only the Francophiles have jumped into this news for now. Well, let's change that quickly, shall we? Never mind the ugly pictures... better than nothing.
First off, there's the
Gmini XS100. Obviously, Archos needed to fill up the gap in their line-up, and so they're getting ready to introduce the XS100 as such. A bit dissapointing is the prospect of it only offering 3GB worth of capacity at a price "below $ 200". Not exactly the prettiest one around either.
Then, there's the upgraded version of the AV4x0-series, the
AV402 (that name's going to confuse people). Not much is known about this thing yet, and the picture wasn't too great either. So that's why I pasted the
AV700 directly next to it.
The Archos AV700 is going to be a 7-inch-screened multimedia monster. Priced at about $ 600, boasting 60GB of diskspace and offering something resembling to TiVo-functionality (recording of sattelite-received video to MPEG-2 or whatever). Echostar, a major player in the sattelite broadcasting market, has joined hands with Archos in this whole thing, so it could turn out to be big. A whole new edge to the DVR-scene, so to speak.
To conclude all of this, there's also a new series of PMA's in the works. Yes, believe it or not, Archos thought the current PMA430 wasn't versatile enough and should be equiped with Digital TV receiver, UMTS (mobile broadband), BlueTooth and support for high-defenition pictures and videos. Uhhhm. I'm wary of the pricetag but impressed by the possibilities.
UPDATE:
ArchosFans also mentions something called the Gmini402.
