Philips player now has a name, and it's very boring: SA-170

Not sure if you remember THIS particular item on Philips' supposed barrage of new MP3 players, but one of those flash players has emerged at some Chinese webshop(s).

It's the stick-like oled-equiped player... which, disappointingly so only seems to come in 128MB and 256MB editions. Eurghr, I think even microwaves are being equiped with more megs-to-boil-chicken-legs, these days.

Anyhow, the GoGear SA-170 will have the usual rim-ram of features: FM radio, USB2.0, charging through latter protocol, WMA playback (on top of MP3 support), 12 hours worth of battery juice. Also has "SuperSkip", in case "Rather-fast-skip" isn't cool enough for you.

The SA-170 seems to be aimed at the cheap-end of the market, starting at some 899 Yuan for the 128MB edition, while the uber-1337 (urgh) 256MB version goes at about 1000 Yuan. That's 85 & 95 Euro respectively, might you not be familiar with the daily exchange rates. I wonder who would ever go for the 128MB version... doesn't seem to make sense. What's another 100 Yuan among friends, huh?

same thing, but with at least a GB flash, and it would be worth looking at.
I also like the case design and the beautiful screen
