iAudio A2... are you there yet?

Well, with E3 going on and all, all eyes seem to be focused at slick gaming stations. Let's not forget about something called the "iAudio A2", now shall we? At the time CeBIT was taking place, Cowon wasn't really sure when the A2 would see its release. "Soon enough" was the best they came up with.

We've spotted the A2 in (yet another) German webshop. Doesn't actually say much useful - no MSRP, for example. The specs were already pretty much available for insight as well. Summing those up again, in case you forgot:
20/30 GB HDD, DivX, DivX-DRM, XviD & WMV (no need for transcoding) support + MP3, WMA, WMA-DRM 9, AC3 5.1, OGG, G.726, WAV & ASF audio playback, a 4" TFT LCD Display - resolution 480 x 272 pixels, FM Radio and USB-On-The-Go 2.0 (OTG 2.0). Not bad, right?

Mp3player.de mentions a release date of somewhere around August 2005... which is still 2.5-3 months away. Can't we just have one now, mr Cowon?

As far as I know Cowon are not using the name "iAudio" for their PMP series any more. If I am not mistaken they will be naming the A2 "Cowon A2" instead of "iAudio A2".

But I might be wrong.

I agree with you eXity. It's a smart move for Cowon as the iAudio name is not suitable for a PMP anymore as the main function of a PMP is to play videos and movies.
