We scooped it up for you
2 months ago and now it's official: Maycom, the company with the most crazy-ass looking players ever (M-Bird
XT-21,
XT-22S) will add the XY-22 to their gamut (it's an existing word, look it up in the dictionary). Somehow, they've shifted from "21" to "22" but it doesn't really matter, now does it?
Refreshing your memory a bit: the XY-22 is that MPEG-4 supporting metal-cased roboto player with built-in stereo speakers. Also does line-in encoding and FM tuning (plus recording). The tiny screen can switch from portrait to landscape mode.
Also seems to come in different colors now. For those of you who like lip-gloss pink or ooze-snot green, that's probably good news.
There'll be 3 versions of the XY-22 available for purchase: a 256MB, a 512MB and a 1GB edition. Prices (South-Korean MSRP) are 165k, 218k and 268k Won respectively (just remove the "k" and you'll know what this means in US Dollar, although prices aren't really comparable that easily). Release date is set for the end of May. That would be like... eh... right about now, funk soul brothers.

Nice! There designs may seem crazy, but in a odd sort of way, I kind of like them.
