Ipod + Wood = GREAT!
comment: 20 | Monday, July 04 (2005) 04:40PM | Posted by chicubs
As well all know, 90+% of large capacity dap players sold are iPods. Obviously that results in a lot of people having the same thing. Some people want to stand out. The normal folks buy a different player while other people....well, they just have way too much time on their hands and modify their iPod. One such person, "ZapWizard" turned his iPod into wood....literally. He took the front plastic cover of the iPod off and created his own wooden shell. As you can see it looks utterly fantastic so look HERE for more pics.

this looks cool, just like those casemods with computers in sleek sigarboxes and all perfect for the businessman who works in a classy environment

I'm not familiar with the technology behind the touchpad, but I have to wonder if still works through the wood.

Much better.

I think the touch technology is heat sensitive.

Looks cool, which is odd, considering it's a shitty iPod.

Absolutely stunning!
I don't think I've ever seen so many positive comments for an iPod news item. I'm still stumped as to how he's made the touch pad work though?

he says everything is fully functional, incuding the wheel. I wish my ipod looked like that.

yeah nice job indeed. Hope he can do something similar for the Zen Touch or turn the iRiver H1xx series into something that looks this spectacular, but that's an unreasonable wish .

He'll receive some phone calls from Apple's side pretty soon, i guess.
