 | | The famous/infamous Bangraman of Head-Fi recently got his mitts on one of those cube-style players from MobiBlu, the DAH-1500, and gives it a proper reviewing on his blogger blog. Verdict: "Unexpectedly Usable," and "Surprisingly Not Bad Sound."
You expect something with such a small size usually to have a number of crippling compromises which prevent it being anything beyond a novelty toy which you tire of after a week's use. What surprises about the mobiBLU DAH-1500 is that remarkably few corners have been cut to achieve the size. The main cut corner is of course the display which had to be shortened over regular MP3 players, but the use of speedy text scrolling ... means that it's very usable all the same. The USB1.1 transfer speed also turned out to be significantly less of a handicap compared to all but the [fastest] players... Just don't lose the USB cable, and you'll find this a surprisingly daily-use friendly player.
