Hantel QoolQee "i" - shaped like its own name
comment: 0 | Friday, August 12 (2005) 08:45AM | Posted by Robert Sinke
Use a bit of your imagination... yeah, there you go... the sphere on top of this player is the "dot" on top of the letter "I" (actual unit itself). Hantel's upcoming QoolQee "i" scores some points in the area of general designing weirdness, that's for sure.

Several colors will be available, among which are pimpin' gold, lipstick/whine red and "ugh, somebody dumped chemicals into the ocean" blue. The "i" seems to be running for some 20 hours one single AAA battery, supports MP3, WMA and Ogg Vorbis (up to Q10) and comes with a monochrome LCD screen. Nice detail is the 8-band user-defineable equalizer. Oh, and it has a built-in FM tuner.
Not sure when this will hit any market, but eh... looks real enough to me. Also bears a slight resemblance to the Freecion FR3, by the way.

Hmm, the apparent glow under the marble looks pretty cool. I like how the like says "DIGITAL LIFE IS IN MY HAND" and the i is called "my cool entertainer..."
I guess some things just don't translate well.

I think it looks quite nifty. Good media support, decent battery life, the lot. I'm wondering how you're supposed to keep it during operation (upright, with the ball to the left or to the right?).

This is an interesting design. Good for us Left handers too. I would like to see this in the american market with a competitive $$ range. 150$ for a 1gig would be nice.

That sure is an odd design. I'm not sure I like ball at the top, though.
