Samsung YP-U1 starting to show up here & there
comment: 10 | Tuesday, August 16 (2005) 05:13PM | Posted by Robert Sinke
The pretty-looking Samsung YP-U1 is roaring its head over at European webshops. Nifty bugger, sporting 13 hour playback time per charge, Ogg Vorbis support and collapsable USB-pen (but lacking stuff like FM radio) - doesn't seem to be that expensive.

Well not to our steepish European standards anyway, and smooth design usually comes with its own price tag...

Seen for about 88 & 128 Euro (black 512MB & white 1GB edition respectively) over at MP3-player.de. About the same levels in Switzerland (K55).

The lack of FM radio & voice recording disappoints me.

Not sure about the FM radio, but I'm pretty sure it has voice-recording capabilities. "The YP-U1 rounds out its impressive list of features with voice recording capability and a 128 x 64 FSTN display." - YP-F1 / YP-U1 Press Release. Plus, it has a dedicated "REC" button.

The lack of an FM radio is somewhat disappointing (for the gym), but this looks like the flash player for me.

The screen looks exactly the same as the iriver flash players.

Looks like a hybrid of iAudio U2 and the shuffle dropped into some black ink.

It's pretty.
