Rio Forge (512mb) or CE2100 (2.5gb) - $ 99

With Rio folding thier MP3 player operations, it was only a matter of time before these things hit the clearance racks. JR.com has the CE2100, a 2.5gb version of the Rio Carbon for $ 99. It's hard to do better than that for under a hundred dolla. Price on the Rio Forge is edging downward as well, with the 512mb version going for $ 99 now. If you recall, this is one of the few flash players that offers id3-tag based music sorting, like the Apple iPod. Other features include an SD memory card slot, FM radio, & radio recording. Both the Carbon (CE2100) and Forge are mass storage complient and can database music on thier own... no software required.

Works for me too. The CE2100 is tempting but I already have two Carbons.

too bad the black faceplate wasn't available in other capacities, it looks much nicer than the 6gb iPod-clone (Pearl)
