Alienware Soon to Release First Flash Player
comment: 2 | Thursday, September 08 (2005) 03:28PM | Posted by chicubs
Why does everyone think that the days surronding Apple's big news conference is a good time to release a new product?

Well, Alienware has joined the club and will soon release a new flash player in 512mb and 1gb sizes...How orginal. They are creatively named the CE > IV ...Close Encounter or something. It comes in two different colors: silver/black and orange/black.

Key Features:

- First digital audio player in the United States to feature SRS WOW HD™, which provides a treble control for a cleaner crisper listening experience of high frequency sounds. WOW HD also features improved TruBass technology, providing an even richer, more superior bass sound enhancement to digitally compressed music, even through the smallest of ear buds!

- Is sleek and lightweight, measuring 3.1 x 2 x 0.7 inches and weighing in at just 1.3 ounces.

- Is packaged with special Alienware noise-reduction earbuds that filter out unwanted background noise and lets you crank up the music without disrupting those around you.

I guess it looks nice and all, but it really is not all that ground breaking. Coming in October. Probably pricey knowing the Alienware guys.

Thanks to everyone who submitted this!

Actually I just measured that out and its HUGE.

My safa q100 does basically all of that stuff but with a color screen and like half the size.

ya prety big considering the archos gmini xs202 is 2.9" x 2.3" x 0.7” and holds a 20gb drive. of course the xs202 at 4.2 oz is alot more heavy.

Seems like they're looking to become the Bose of DAP's.

It's supposed to have SD-card storage capability. If it uses a AA/AAA battery and has a good price, it would probably be decent.

Haha, nice mentioning this as, the Bose of DAPs; I'm guessing they're not shooting for Bang & Olufsen marketshare.

That’s why I said “if”, Zip22. I’ve never heard of Alienware before, so have no idea what their products are typically like. Never heard of the hummer-branded laptop either. Though I’d never feel good about buying a product produced by that company.

I'd say Alienware wants to make sure people who love Alienware logo on their laptops get mp3 player with the same logo. Alienware is all about this one design. Which sucks, btw. but some people buy it.
