 | | Next to the spectatcularly boring 6GB HDP-M3000, Sanyo is also coming up with something more distinctive flash-based DMP-Mx00 series.
These things look like short, square straws (at a size of 87x15.6×15.6mm) , yet despite this fact they do come with (long-stretched, 1-line, multi-color backlit) LCD screens. MP3 and WMA (DRM, except for version nr 10) are supported and there's an FM tuner in there as well.
There's the M600 (512MB capacity) and the 1GB M700, in a wide variety of colors to choose from. Japanese MSRPs are 18k Yen and 23k Yen (512MB, 1GB respectively), which boils down to some 130 and 170 Euro/Dollar and all.
Could have been an old MiniDisc remote too, really. Eye-catching designs usually do the trick over in Japan, so this might actually work out fine for Sanyo - a company which came up with a 5GB voice recorder quite a few months ago already, if anyone cares. LINK |
