Erae's Foce F1-2510

Not sure whatever happened to their micro-hdd based unit, but Erae did recently present their latest trick-up-the-sleeve at KES (Korea): the F1-2510.

Like their original, sleek F1-2210, this puppy has some flash memory built-inside (1GB) but it does come with a bigger screen (2.5-inch rather than 2.2-inch, hence the name "2510"). Not sure if we like the flashy red color, but maybe that's the iAudio F1 trauma kicking in again. Plus it's aslo available in black, should you really be wondering.

Additional specs for the F1-2510:

  • Supports MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 SP/ASP, WMV9, Divx ALL
  • Audio formats supported: MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV, AC3
  • Picture formats supported: JPEG, BMP, GIF
  • Storage capacity: 1 GB (Flash Memory)
  • USB interface: USB 2.0(Slave) / USB 2.0(Host)
  • Battery performance per charge, video: 6 Hours - audio: 12 Hours

So it's probably kinda expensive and super iffy that it will appear in the US?

yup.... the first one was really quite impressive (razor-sharp image quality to "those days" standards). Second one 95GB edition) also had a lot going for it. Surprised these things never surfaced anywhere outside of Korea, if memory serves me right - although the company obviously did spend lots of money on promoting their units at CES, CeBIT and IFA.
