AOL offers Music Subscription Service
comment: 0 | Thursday, November 03 (2005) 07:29AM | Posted by Austin Vaughan
America Online just bought the music subscription service MusicNow.com, which offers the same kind of deal you can already get from Napster, Yahoo, and Rhapsody. $ 10 per month for all you can download, or $ 15 per month so you can transfer music to your WMA10-compatible audio player. They have a library of about 1,000,000 songs... same as the others. Seems like AOL is just trying to keep up with thier rival, Yahoo.

Music Now offers a 30-day free trial if you want to check it out.

Seriously, when is Canada going to get some of this music subscription goodness? I remember the iTunes Music Store taking a long time to get here, too.

I think it's pretty funny how the non-Apple music software business is splintering up just like the non-Apple DAP hardware business. Dozens of companies making dozens of products, non of which stand out.

As funny as that wasn't Sown.

Canadian music is actually better than the crap that's been churned out in America in the last 5 years.

The nation that brought the world Celine Dion, Alanis Morisette, Shania Twain and Bryan Adams, yep I don't know where we'd be without Canada.

Those four? What is it, 1995? Get over it, the Canadian music scene's moved on a bit since then. Besides, if it weren't for all the damn vapid pop-loving Americans, they never would've made it big in the first place. Anyone who saw Titanic, I'm looking at you.
