Who needs some fancy iPod, when you got this baby?

The unit is feature packed and compact. Get this, instead of running on flash memory or a hard drive, it uses strange compact discs that use sound by analog rather than digital. After I got the Numark PT-01 Turntable, I tossed out my Rio Karma. Besides, this thing has great gapless playback.

It can run on 6 D batteries, has a headphone or RCA outputs for hooking up to your choice. Or you can use the speaker inside the unit. It is barely bigger than a 12" record too.

Ok, I'm not replacing my Rio Karma yet, I just wanted to show off a neat little portable turntable I got recently. You can check out the Numark's product page here.

looks nice, can I ask how much it cost you? Still looking for a reliable turntable myself, nice stuff out there turns out to be quite expensive.

I see on the product page it can play 12" LP's as well, from the looks of it I thought it could only carry 7". So next time you take the sub, you'll be scratching and dashing all around the subway eah??

That's more like an AAP... Analog Audio Player

(Numark turntables... so much potential and then they ruined it with that dreadful stylus... TTX)

Nice portable, if they had a changer option it'd be handy.

If I had the cash, I'd spring for a turntable with optical out, just for kicks.

i have one of these. it's a steal @ $99. it's a good solid turntable for the money. it has a built-in pre-amp, so you can plug just about anything directly into it. it has mini-phono and rca outs. running on batteries works well too.

i'm an audiophile but hardly a vinyl purist, but it's so cool to take this thing down to your local record store and test out some records. you can walk out of a store with 20 interesting albums that you'll never find in a store, and end up spending only $15.

then you can rip the good stuff to your ipod!

Surely all true audiophile geeks lust after a laser turntable. (Only US$15K!)
