Movie Vision

Today's new PMP-of-the-day comes from Japan: the Movie Vision. For about 20,000 Yen ($ 170 USD) you get a 2.5-inch color screen (320x240), WMA/WMA audio, MPEG-4 video playback, picture viewing, voice recording, and a whopping 128mb of memory. Not much, but it does have an SD card slot which can hold another 2gb worth, if you were inclined to blow another few hundred bucks.

Top end performance includes 640x480 movies - up to 2.4Mb/s bitrate, and support for JPEG images of up to 6mb in size. The built-in battery is good for 3 hours video, but only 4 hours of audio... which ain't that good.

It looks damn nice but I can't see putting only 128MB in a movie player, that seems like a big step backwards. And it doesn't play mp3's???

128 MB is really light memory wise...but it won't cost you hundreds more for more memory You can find 1 GB cards for $40 easily these days...

I agree with Allen about the buttons. The sd slot is good though.

mmm....buttons..I like buttons.

Seriously, they don't look out of place and more buttons means more direct access to functions. Buttons are your friend.
