Chinese website IMP3 has published an article in which they've compared several players to each other. These were the contenders:
- iRiver U10
- DEC F17R
- Cowon iAudio U3
- JDX850
- Samsung YP-T8
- Cube T8 (aka Dyne Telecom T8)
- Ramos RM910
We're not exactly surprised by some of their findings - the Chinese players (JDX, Ramos, DEC) received good grades in the "price category", whereas the Korean ones tend to do better in, well, most other other categories (design, sound quality, screen quality, feature set et cetera). iRiver's U10 seems to be taking the Grand Prize when totalling up all aspects, with the U3 hot on its heels. The two equally-named South-Korean products - Samsung's T8 and Dyne Telecom's T8 - seem to be keeping a decent balance altogether as well.
Interesting to see the Chinese DAPs not being totally outperformed by their Korean competitors anymore (okay, this *is* a Chinese website reviewing them

). There used to be an enormous "quality gap" between South Korean & Chinese units - although the arrear is still there, it seems as if a few Chinese brands are starting to get the hang of it by now.
