jWIN JX-MP93 can eat 2GB SD cards

Some of these reps at the CES in Las Vegas were just rude, which is okay as long as there's a valid reason. Something like "No sir, you cannot take pictures of this device because your camera's flash will cause this thing to mutate into some horrific giant sea cucumber, which could very well hurt our sales prognosis for this year" sounds like a reasonable excuse.

"No sir, you can't take pictures of this unit because you can't take pictures of it" on the other hand, isn't really too convincing a reason. And yet, this is what the rep over at jWIN's booth told us when we were taking pictures of their JX-MP93, a cute little square-shaped DAP that relies on a SD card as its main storage medium. Kind of reminds of us of the Perception Digital PD-205 (aka MyMusix PD-205).

"Why can't we take pictures of it? Don't you feel confident about your own products?", we replied. "Eh. Yes. Well, no. Eh. You can't take pictures, that's all I've got to say. Just don't.". Wow. What a great representative. Someone promote this guy. Especially since most of the specs & data on this particular player are available already... on jWIN's own website. Talk about redundant personnel.

Anyway, here's some much-needed info on the JX-MP93:

  • Supported Memory Card: SD / MMC (up to 2GB)
  • Power Source: 1 x "AAA" Battery (Not Included)
  • Unit Weights: 0.05 lbs (w/o battery)
  • Unit Dimensions (WHD): Approx. 2.1 x 0.6 x 2.1 (Inches)
  • MP3 / WMA supported
  • Supports ID3 Tag and Lyrics Display
  • Bright LCD for Easy Readability
Prices range from $ 26.88 (no SD card included) to $ 90.88 (512MB SD card included) - although there's probably going to be a "2GB bundle" as well. One can choose from several (5) colors. We suspect the formerly-mentioned rep doesn't want you to know about all of this, though - so please don't buy any JX-MP93s just yet .

"Jukemen" heh good one. I'd probably buy one if I saw it in a store, and Jwins stuff is all over the place so I might.

This looks perfect for me! I had a 1G sd lying around from when I had my PDA. I've been looking at the Sandisk e130 for around $60-$70. But $25 is perfect. I want something to use when canoeing or jogging. I don't need a powerful DAP since I really won't use one much.

Does anyone have more info on this player? Such as reviews or more importantly battery life?

You can get a 1gig sd card for around $50 so for $75 you have a 1gig dap. Not to mention a lot of people have sd cards lying around so this is a way to put them to use.
