Viliv P1 review @ XtremeComputing

In need of a non-Korean Viliv P1 review? Here ya go.

The Viliv P1 as far as I know is the only player on the market that uses a flash based OS and it does not suffer. The video playback quality on the player even when outputted to a tv was excellent as well as sharp, even the fm transmitter worked well (yes I kid you not)[...]

overall, I thought this player was superb in every way. Yes it may be bigger than the ipod, but the screen size, changeable battery, file support, flash interface and general ease of use sets it miles ahead. As far as I am concerned, the Viliv P1 is the player for me that sets the benchmark for all others to match. Roll on the competition!

Pros:
Excellent video and sound options,
Good video playback quality,
Wide range of video and sound codecs supported,
TV out and FM transmitter,
Large wide screen,
Flash based OS,
Standard pack far from standard,
Outside of pouch is soft enough to be screen wipe

Cons:
Finger print magnet

Not too many cons there, huh . Apart from the obvious controller-thingy, I wouldn't be inclined to compare the P1 to the iPod - typical "is it a DAP or is it a PMP?" debate. Guess not everyone has an Archos AV500 or Cowon A2 available, but stuff like that makes more realistic comparison material nevertheless.
