comment: 8 | Tuesday, February 14 (2006) 10:43AM | Posted by Austin Vaughan
Here's another Gameboy-like player, the SSF-M805 (512MB) and SSF-M810 (1 GB) from from JNC. This one does support some kind of game play but their website doesn't give us any specifics. Not a big deal considering it's only available in Asia.

• 512mb or 1gb flash memory
• 2 inch TFT LCD (220x176)
• Mini-SD card slot
• USB 2.0, USB Host 1.1
• Video support: WMV, DivX, AVI, Pix, MPEG4 (15 fps)
• Audio support: MP3, WMA, Ogg (up to Q10)
• Displays JPEG pics and TXT files
• FM Radio, radio recording
• Lyrics display
• 5 EQ presets, Custom EQ, 3D sound
• 5 hours video playback, 20 hours audio playback
• 2 built-in games, more games available on the web (what type?)
• Built-in speakers
• Size: 90 x 13 x 45.5mm, Weight: 65g (include battery)

Now, if you know JNC, they don't really make anything of their own. Rebranding is what they're best at. And yes, we have covered this player before. For 50 bonus points, can you name the make and model?

(I didn't recognize this one myself, but after consulting ROB.dB, he knew exactley what it was!)

Wicked. Nothing like term paper season to make one focus on what's really important.

Sympathy is also welcome.

Austin: Hah, no worries. I freely admit to my unhealthy fascination with DAPs - particularly acute when I'm trying to procrastinate. Like, er, now.

Is this a chinese company? Is that why copyright laws dont affect them? I remember seeing some chinese rip-offs of like Iriver h10s and lotsa stuff. BUt that company is crazy! They have copied like every niche dap out there and made it their own, though i do have to admit i do like the look of this one. If it was black metal instead of that silver/white, id be all over it. Or i could just get a PSP but i hate the need to use Sony MermorySticks :|
