A better look at the MobiBLU Cube 2

Well, it was about time someone came up with a more detailed look at the Cube 2, so here you go.

Its screen will be about 0.67 inch in diameter and hosts 64 x 48 pixels. Picture viewing (JPEG format) is possible - but hardly useful, in our opinion - as are slide shows. Charging the battery and uploading/downloading of data still happens via the 3.5mm headphone jack; there's your typical built-in microphone (for voice recording, which is said to be of "fine quality") as well; not sure if the FM tuner requires that weird little modulator thingy to be attached to it, but it's possible to receive FM radio one way or the other anyway. Size and weight seem to remain largely unaffected (compared to the original Cube aka DAH-1500) at 24 x 24 x 24mm and 18 grams.

Sound enhancement-wise, there was room to fit in SRS WoW HD, definition, TruBass and 7 equalizer presets. Stuff like "Fade in" (as seen on the B153), a sleep timer and "tempo control" is pretty much standard issue in MobiBLU's players; the C2 will have those implemented in its firmware too. Seems like there's a special USB (slash speaker?) dock for the Cube 2 coming up too. We can distinct gray, red, blue and black-colored versions as well.

they still haven't fixed the screen wastage. Huh. If they would get rid of that ginormous play thing in the middle, they'd be all right. Other than that, pretty sweet. Especially the new controls.

I agree with the screen layout not being as functional as it could be. But I would say that this player is strong in all the other aspects. Looks really nice, I'll be looking into this one.

its got loads of options, sound quality is good and the shape... its unique and very well designed.
only possible negative was the battery life could have been longer

OK, new photos, that's kind of cool, but what about the stuff that actually matters? The first Cube had 2 huge problems: long silent gap between tracks, and tracks not played in the correct order (only first ~6 chars of filename were used for sorting). From other threads, it wasn't clear whether firmware for the first Cube fixed these problems. Do we have any idea whether the Cube 2 will fix them?
