Furthermore, Meizu Sweden (which managed to release nine previous Meizu units during the past few years) claims this thing will be released somewhere between the end of this month and July. The built-in battery can be replaced by Meizu as well, at a cost of 250-300SEK (25-30 Euro).

Most of us are interested in the 4GB version, but it seems as if that particular edition will be delayed for a bit (due to issues with memory chip supplies; probably a financial matter). On the other hand, some alternative sources have denied any such delays. We'll see in good time.

Wow the specs look good even the Battery life and codec support looks good. If it lives up to the specs it could be a good mp3 contender.

Apple should just buy this company and call this player the iPod Nano 2

Man its really hard to decide which player to buy: Cowon i6, Sandisk Sansa, iRiver Clix or this one...

Price could make or break this in the field of feature pacted daps.... how will it stand up to the clix, sansa, et cetera....

how will it stand up? lets see...

bigger screen, better form factor/design than the clix and sansa. cheaper to I believe. if the clix didn't support flash lite, there'd be literaly no competition. since this is an all around better player. and so what if the batterylife is less than the clix. just charge it while you sleep every couple days and you're good to go.

law I wouldn't say this is a better design than the Clix but it outperforms it. also its going to be priced competitively with the Nano if I remeber that previous news post before correctly.

But I'm just going to get the Clix once it's out tommorrow.

breakdown: the clix: click screen would get fairly tiresome after a while, it wasnt designed fro convenience, just for style. just dont like the plastic feel of the U10. plus, thinner is better in my opinion. would be nice if the M6 supported flash light. thats the only reason why I'm torn between these 2 players. and the new nav/interface of the clix makes it even harder to choose.

wuoah, this thing could ROCK if they put an 30 gig HDD in it. That's virtually the only thing missing.
come on, meizu, think about that one again.

more flash memory! 6 or 8 gig at least...
and up the battery life (MobiBLU DAH-1900)
that would do the trick!

waterproof? whoa, cooool

It could be cool if they made a 30gb besides this one. But this is still a very nice Flash player there aren't too many Flash players with such a big screen and that thin. The screen is just as big as my 5g Ipod. Much better then the Nano's

Agh why must everything be so Applesque.

I hate chrome backings on players (the back of Meizu M6). I also dislike white (the backs of iRiver Clix/Creative Zen Vision: M).

I agree with PeterDLai, the chrome back on these screams Apple and really turns me off to this player... I think I'll refocus my attention back on the Oracom UB-890 kthx...

just admit that these players are hot.

now that the new black macbooks are out, anything that comes out from now on, that happen to be black will be considered a mac rip. I wonder what colour mac will own next.

law1004, yea specs wise this player does look hot and i really like that they used the player's real estate efficiently by putting a nice big screen on it and minimalizing and "in-between" space BUT when it is only available in black and white with a chrome backing, how can you say that doesn't make it look like some next-gen iPod? Why can't it be all black or all white? Why not some other colors like red or green or something? Why the ugly chrome back? I think it is rather obvious, and I can't blame for doing it, but Meizu wants a piece of the Apple market as all DAP companies do.

law1004

why black and white? because those are standard colours for most serious daps. I wouldnt buy a green/blue/yellow/orange or whatever other colour dap player. makes the dap seem cheap/tacky. clean black, white or silver = sophistication, clean, class. I've heard people compare the white DS lite to the ipod. because its white. now that apple officialy owns the colour black. I'm pretty sure all black daps or laptops will be branded macbook/ipod close.

yea, I know in this case its obvious that they were inspired by ipod esthetics, but what other colour would you prefer? I personaly like the chrome back, but an all white or black back would be nice to. and I think this player would look hot in all silver, brushed metal.

"but what other colour would you prefer?....metal"

colors/materials i think would look much better on it:

all flat black (like plastic with no gloss)
all flat silver (like plastic with no gloss)
all black brushed metal (monolith MX5000 style)
all silver brushed metal (monolith MX5000 style)

it is the chrome and the white that makes it seem apple-ish, not the black. apple only truly owns white as a color imho along with chrome as a rear styling....anyways, enough of this....

Some fresh news.
It is being launched in China on 25,and little later globally.
I think I will be ready to sell in italy on end of june.
For the people who asked the 4gb price,it will be 225 for italy.
Initially it will be available only in white color then after about a month or less in black too,but that is referred to the chinese launch,so for europe should be immediatly available in both.

2GB version available in Holland from June 3rd.
...and all the talk about the tacky chrome back: it's made of ALUMINIUM! That un-tacky's it for me!
But still, it's MTP so it's not for me.
