Granted, it took them a while (like 7 months or so) but the boys & girls over at Maxian ahave finally done it: their T600 PMP is now available for purchase in Europe.

For those who've forgotten about the whole thing already, here's a shameless copy-paste dump of the unit's specifications:

  • Capacity: 20 GB / 30 GB (1.8 inch HDD)
  • Display: 4 inch WQVGA(480 x 272) TFT LCD, 16,700,000 color pixel (24 bits), Wide screen 16:9

  • Captioning: SMI format
  • Audio/Voice Recording (MP3/ADPCM)

  • Dimensions: 139 x 73 x 19 mm
  • Weighs Approx. 260g

We've seen this thing in action ourselves on a few occasions, and it has been rebranded by some random companies as well over time... buuut nothing tops the original, right? Right. Must say the whole thing looks clean but boring - same can be said for the graphical user interface.

The 30GB T600 will come available in both black & white editions and has an MSRP of some 450 Euro. On a side-note, Maxian has fiddled with the T600 in Korea itself so it can receive DMB signals (through an add-on accessory). Not like it matters much to us.

Thanks, MaxianFan

it looks like an a2, if the a2 was a person, a person who had been thrown off a motorbike, and then had reconstructive surgery to fix them up as best as they could.

This thing is really crappy. I used it for 2 weeks but I really hated it. Hope everyone will just go for the A2 or something.

Wonder why people seem to hate T600. I have it more than a month now and more than happy with it.
