Even more new iRiver models
comment: 17 | Thursday, July 20 (2006) 11:02AM | Posted by chicubs
We just heard of the new N20, but iriver apparently has even more new stuff on the horizon according to iriverfans.

There will be two models. One will be called the D25 which will likely be a smaller version of the weird dictionary mp3 player we saw from iriver a while back. The D10 (pictured right) was only released in asia, so I wouldn't be holding your breath for a European or US release.

The other and more interesting model's letter cannot be revealed right now, but its model number will be 10.

Reported features/specs:

- smaller than W10
- Talblet PC or UMPC
- DMB and GPS
- maybe a camera
- Macromedia Flash player 8
- Wibro support

Once again, I'm going to have to say that this probably will not become available outside Asia.

Thanks to michaelzhang from iriverfans via our forums

EDIT: Jungti1234 via our forums claims that the letter of the device is actually J. So, I guess its the J10 then. He also claims that the picture he shows is one of 16 designs. Also, he says it will most likely be touch-screen based, have no camera or GPS function, and he confirms it will be windows but not Vista based.

What's with the recent UMPC/gaming thing iRiver have going on? Case of can't compete so go into a different market?

I think they just see opportunities in other areas and want to take advantage of it before others do the same. I do have renewed faith in iriver so my perspecitive is different from yours.

lol, I'm aware of a portable PC market

Whoever gets that perfected would make millions upon millions. As it is there has always been a few drawbacks

Still, if the next rumoured player is a UMPC, well...I suppose Microsoft and partners are pushing it but who buys the things? Is it really better than a 10 or 12.1 in ultra portable laptop?

Jungti, we typically give credit to the source we got it from. In this case, it was michaelzhang who submitted the news to us as well as posting it on his site and our forums.

There's no denying the cool factor of some of these gadgets by iRiver.. but.. it seems that they are using the shotgun approach and have lost focus, the way they seem to be flailing about..

The design team seems to be all revved up.. I just wonder if there is a master plan to harness all this horsepower..

^Why? Just look at it. It is the crapiest drawing I have seen in my life (And don't argue with me, I am going into industrial design). iriver would never hire a designer like that.

Anyways, read the replies, the members even explain that the drawing is fan drawn. Next time, read the WHOLE article.

Of course, iriver's designer doesn't such draw.
(Its design does in inno design, inno designer doesn't such draw too)

Can you bring internal document?
I can't, also person who painted the picture can't.
He/She saw internal document and painted, and is correct.
I will get correct image much more.

^ If you talk about 김영세 in that way again, I am serious, I am going to explode. You live in seoul? Where, I live in 강남.

We'll see if your prediction that they won't make another DAP again is correct design. I bet you it's not.

DAPreview members, this user (Jungti1234) is not a liar or anything. His english is just not too good and I misunderstood him. The J10, is real. It is going to be a produced product. Also, l am sorry, for judging this situation so quickly.
