Sharp has a new MP3 player that will go on sale in Japan later this month: the MP-S700, with 512mb of flash memory, and the MP-S800 which comes with a full 1gb worth of memory. Not too generous by today's standards but enough for most people.
Features include MP3/WMA playback (including WMA DRM), line-input recording, voice recording, and an FM transmitter with selectable frequency (85.1-88.9MHz). The internal battery is good for 10-15 hours of music playback, or 3-4 hours while using the FM transmitter.
And... well, that's about it. The industrial-style design is fairly nice, and it's rare that we see an FM transmitter on a flash player, but otherwise... these don't seem too interesting or memorable.
The MP-S700 will retail for 15k Yen ($130 USD), and the S800 will go for 20k Yen ($174 USD). Both models will be available in (iPod) White, (Satanic) Black, and (Blood) Red.
