It's not exactly super-compact (105 x 50 x 18 mm), but at least Trekstor's upcoming "Vibez" player has the weird looks and a series of slightly-interesting features to show off with.
Apparently, this device will come in both 8 and 15GB flavors, a rather small (176 x 132) TFT color screen, Ogg Vorbis & Flac support as well as DRM9/10 compliance (next to the usual MP3/WMA/WAV offerings).
Also onboard are a picture viewer (for JPEGs), crossfading functionality, playlists-on-the-go and a removable battery that lasts for about 20 hours per charge. An FM tuner card (?) allows us to receive radio waves and there's a wired remote control to activate the Vibez' bleeps and blobs from a distance. An optional docking station is said to be on its way too.
"Rio DJ"-like features and a configurable menu button (assign preferred functionality to a certain button) complement the Vibez as being a strange-looking, but tres interesting device, I guess.
Scheduled release date: November 2006, prices: 199 Euro (8GB) and 229 Euro (15GB, easy choice there).
