Thomson PMP2516: M6 + TV-out, kind of
comment: 9 | Monday, September 25 (2006) 08:50PM | Posted by Robert Sinke
We've mentioned the PMP2008 only a few days ago, but Thomson China didn't stop there just yet; they've also added this "PMP2516" thingy to their upcoming (Chinese) line-up.

Whereas the 2008 model looked more like a traditional DAP (with its 2-inch diameter color screen and all), the PMP2516 introduces a "horizontal" design (upping the screen size to 2.5-inch); it's just as flat, also plays videos, yadda-yadda-yadda and indeed: it also boasts TV-out. Not a very common feature among flash DAPs.

Rather than the 2008's skimpy USB1.1 interface, this version comes with a regular USB2.0-compatible connector. Memory capacity is listed at 1GB @ a cost of 1380 Yuan (135 Euro or so).

The controls on the front of the player look to be quite "super ultra mega flat"tm and the whole thing kind of reeks like an Meizu M6. That doesn't have to a bad thing, as you all might know by now . The link below gives an insight into the rest of the specs, should you be urging for that kind of material.

well more flash player should have TV-Out since they are so small and thus their screens are so small and so many play videos so tv-out should be a standard feature.

^ Exactly. I would love to see some special way to connect to the TV. I hate having to carry around an A/V cable.

^^ LOL branding always waste space, they should put it on the back of the player... It'd be cool if they developed a wireless T/V out that was standard on every TV... that'd be so cool...
