LG FM37's looking pretty good

We've seen some new LG stuff during last monht's IFA already; currently, there's a large fair called the "KES" going on in South Korea - home to many DAP/PMP makers, including LG Electronics. Pictured below is their latest gizmet/gadmo ("gizmo" + "gadget" or vice versa), the "FM37". Or, as it's officially designated, the "&FM37" (the little "&"-thingy acts as a product logo and a product name at the same time).

It's more or less a continuation of LG's FM3x-series concept, meaning that there's a nice little (2.4-inch) color screen in there as well as a reasonable amount of flash memory (4GB) - all of this will run for about 20 (audio) / 5 (video) hours per battery charge. Note that LG has thrown in a bit of a "less is more" look, so the FM37 looks all clean and nice and stuff - there are no controls to clutter the front palet with. Seems as if the device can be operated by means of a touch-based system.

At 90 x 51.5 x 10.4mm, this thing is neither huge nor ultra-supadupa-compact (Meizu M6 measures 79 x 48.2 x 10mm, for instance). Apparently, LG has fit a number of additional features like eBook reading and DMB-compliance into the slick-looking shell as well. There's also talk of something "XD"; I'm not sure if that's a referral to possible XD card-expansion or not, but whatever.

A blank surface is not good. It implies waste or incompleteness. It makes me wonder if the player will insert 3 seconds of silence between each song to maintain consistency.

Translation: LG electonic's &FM35's (music dmb player) upgrade the &FM37 has been revealed at the Korean Electronics Show at Kintex. The FM3 7 is the first player to have an integrated touch interface and has 4GB of memory. Using the Mobile XD engine, the image quality is powerful and is built with high quality aluminum. One of the highlighted feature is the high quality video playing capability lacking in many players.

The device was supposed to play DMB but the display model did not have this feature, creating confusion.

I like this on. Clean design. No buttons. Good battery live and not ultra small. 6 or 8gb please!

it kinda looks like the clix, except with stainless steel, and a big waste of space.

If this had a larger screen, this would be really nice... Hmm, so close to being perfect.
