The Maxian D900, aka Neo.

This specs on this thing are awesome - if it's the real deal. Hard to tell since the description is written entirely in Korean. Here's what we have so far:

• WinCE 5.0
• GUI animated with Flash graphics
• Screen: 4.3-inch WVGA (800x480) TFT LCD, 400:1 contrast, 200cd brightness
• Touch-sensitive display with stylus
• 802.11b/g WiFi
• Bur Brown DAC
• SD/MMC card slot
• S-video out through proprietary data port
• Built-in kickstand
• Removable battery
• USB Host
• DMB TV with extending antennae
• Built-in stereo speakers
• Built-in mic with voice recording
• Video codec support: WMV 7/8/9, Divx/Xvid (including support for GMC & QPEL encoding), H.264, and MPEG-2 videos with MP3, AC3, or DTS (2-channel downmix) audio tracks
• Full D1 resolution (720x480) playback
• Audio codec support: MP3, OGG, FLAC, APE
• Image support: JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, PNG

That's pretty impressive. The only thing it doesn't have is a video camera. It doesn't make a cup of tea, either.

In the ifa2006 video for the Maxian M800 the rep mentions a new product launch in November.

Check it out here at about the 4:00 mark of the video he talks about it

Another touchscreener beating Apple to market. Why all the buttons though if it's the case?

because touch only is cumbersome. Buttons are a quick way to get at features you want.

There has to be a catch. A 4.3 inch screen with that resolution is awesome but battery life and capacity will tell if this device is the true PMP among all others.

No word on processor?

All these new Korean PMPs seem to be heading towards the UMPC side of things. Touch screen and Windows

as long as it has good enough battery, good size, and doesnt pull my pants down will say if its worth the insane price it will have.
and personaly i could do better without touching my screen.

haha, right...

i agree with hobo, this seems like a dumbed down UMPC. looking at that market, price and battery life have the potential to suck.

engadget is saying that there is no internal storage, their source link is dapreview though, but maybe they can read korean.

well, it does seem to have a memory card slot. and from looking at the specs one would assume there is no internal storage. looks nice though.

Wow... a Bur Brown DAC. It'd be interesting, indeed, to know exactly what IC is used. I'm not up to speed on what kind of DAC's and internal amps are stock on most portables, but Bur Brown is top of the line as far as op amps and what not are concerned. This might sound pretty darn good for a PMP/DAP.

Yup, this is the one I got some info about at my video from IFA 2006 at [Linky]

At IFA, the representative was talking about high definition video support. But your reported specs do not mention that, so I guess that it is to be seen, as well as GMC and Qpel support at D1 resolution and full bitrate I think should be tested. These kind of codecs aren't peanuts.

And apples touch screen thinger wont be a retarded down mac-UMPC? Just because apple MAY make one doesnt discount this one. And apples has the potential to have crap battery life and price. They are the kings of crap battery and price IMO. Well, craptacular player value/cost also.

This more actually like a windows pda that been upgrade. Or maybe something like those HP and Toshiba handhelds that have a keyboard and also running windows CE but the never version and without keyboard.

um. Hardly. Just because its based on WIN CE doesnt mean anything. Is a dreamcast a PDA? Is this a PDA? I dont think so. Its a portable media player. Its core operating sytstem doesnt really matter... Alot of PMPs run off linux. Does that make them not PMPs?

wide VGA, or Wide Video Graphics Array, referring to a standard of resolution, in this case 800x480 pixels.

I am saying it is more like a pda than the UMPC based on os alone. but yeah dc aint a pda because you can not use it to organize data.

Sadly I wish they had released the color screen VMU and the DVD drive addon. I am so pissed the DC got canned. Sorry, I feel a little bit bitchy today lol.
