MobiBLU Cubisto - guess what, it's shaped like a cube

It briefly popped up in our forums some months ago - but no one seemed to be really sure just what a "Cubisto" is supposed to be.

Basically, the Cubisto is another one of those MobiBLU Cube-shaped DAPs - a bit more affordable than the Cube 2 (2GB version anyway), but also less-advanced (no color screen). Let's just say it's the next DAH-1500(i), then. Too bad battery life seems to have deteriorated to a mere 8 hours per charge (down from 10 hours).

While looking for more info (and finding MoiBLU's website to be off line a few days ago), we stumbled into a recent blog entry from TechnaBob:

The CUBISTO will be priced at $ 89.99 for the 1GB version and about 20 bucks more for the 2GB model ($ 10 less than the Cube2 equivalent models.) The players supports MP3, WMA and WMA DRM formats and are Windows Media PlaysForSure compliant.

Doesn't seem to be a fixed launch date for the US (or Europe for that matter) just yet.

So is that a case on it? or is that the actual shape of the player?

I think it's a silicon/rubber sleeve for a lanyard, but I could be wrong...

I seems to be a replaceable sleeve for the cube (Although I cannot confirm it 100%). There is a leather and a silicone one.

I saw this on the Playsforsure page about a month ago and posted it here, everyone said it was probably just a Cube 1 with a skin on it. Oh well, still looks nice. I might pick one up if I see it in a store somewhere.
