Popco.net reviews the Samsung K3
comment: 17 | Thursday, February 08 (2007) 11:43AM | Posted by Lone

The Korean gagdet enthusiasts at Popco.net have reviewed Samsung's K3, which us North American folks are still waiting around for. As usual they've taken numerous high-res pictures, but in addition the site has even translated the review to English, so many of us can actually read it. Sweet.

All in all the reviewer loved the thin, striking design, simple menus, and excellent FM tuner reception, calling the K3 "a sophisticated little device." Concerns were the subpar image viewer (mainly due to the low-resolution LCD, only 160 x 128 pixels) and lack of customizable equalizer.

"It is thinner than any other MP3 player currently on the market including Samsung's own ultra-thin Z5F".

According to Popco, the K3 is 6.95mm, or 0.274" thick. The iPod Nano is 0.26" thick.

What, don't tell me that Popco also thinks that iPods and MP3 players are two entirely different things, too...

No user EQ is a VERY BAD thing! There should be a DAP commandment list, starting with:

1) Thou shalt have user EQ

I have the yp-k5 which is the version of this player with a speaker, and I find the navigation to be fine.

cnet wrote "Two minor annoyances were no gapless playback and each track starts with a fade-in that you can't disable.'

Is this true, and does the K5 have the same problem?

^ How would you go about registering to that place to post? I can't find a way to do it yet, lol.

Edit: Okay, I'm trying to register now, but I don't know what this means and it's required:

"주민등록번호는 암호화되어 저장이 되므로 관리자도 알수 없습니다.
(회원 중복가입을 막기 위한 검사수단으로만 사용이 됩니다.) "

..okay, I'm going way off topic now, lol.

^ Are you Korean? I don't see why you would want to register to a site that you can't read...

Anyways, all webistes in Korea needs your Korean Citizen number to register, which you apparently don't know/have.
