Envy the iriver NV
comment: 15 | Monday, June 18 (2007) 06:23AM | Posted by Michael
Today, iriver officially unveiled their newest toy, the player formerly known as the M10. The actual name is the iriver NV. As previously mentioned, the NV is a GPS navigation device, and easily one of the hottest looking ones I've seen, if I do say so myself:

The player doesn't just have looks going for it. There's plenty of attractive features under its' hood as well:

  • Display: 7" WVGA White LED TFT (800 x 480)
  • Built-in GPS and DMB
  • Two SD Card Slots
  • Audio: MP3, WMA, Ogg, and AC3
  • Video: MPEG-4, AVI, Divx, Xvid, WMV, and H.264
  • FM Transmitter
  • USB-Host
  • 1280 x 1024 Camera Capture
  • and more!

The NV will likely be exclusive to Asia. An unfortunate, but likely prediction that's surely making our readers green with eNVy. Hell, I don't even own a car and I want one of these. No release date or pricing info yet, but we'll be sure to pass it on to you when they arrive.

CADILLAC should give these away with every 2008 CTS/STS/XLR since they certainly follow a similar Arts & Science Design Theme...

egad... nice beauty shot..

If it looks as good in real-life as that gray-scale photo, I'd say Angelina Jolie has some competition...

it surely is a unique design....the enlarged knob is for operation during driving, I imagine......

still, it's a sad testimony indeed when GPS devices out-codec digital audio and video playing devices.

Gorgeous and great specs, BUT... 7 inch screen?!?!
It's gonna require one hell of an industrial bracket to keep this on your dashboard.
Nice for movies and general PMP usage though.

"still, it's a sad testimony indeed when GPS devices out-codec digital audio and video playing devices. "

I was thinking the same thing when writing this up.

LOL wow... it really does out-codec some DAPs... sad. The design is really nice, just like all other iRiver devices. If they can make this a full fledged HD PMP, I'm on it. Plus the knob has that little screen thing in the middle, REALLY cool.
