Venzero Announces the FREQ
comment: 7 | Tuesday, August 21 (2007) 11:51AM | Posted by Michael
Venzero has a few new players that will be shown off at the upcoming IFA convention. Their latest is called the FREQ, and they say it's the first media player to have a built-in FM Transmitter. I'm not so sure about that claim, as I recall some other devices that were equipped with one. Either way, it's a nice addition that many people will appreciate.

Along with that FM Transmitter, The FREQ will have a 2.4" screen (262K colors), have an FM Tuner, and Voice Recorder. It will also include it's famous MusicMarker system which can supposedly recognized the artist and track from a short audio clip. If you like what you see, you can get your FREQ on starting in September for $99US/Euros. No word on capacity, but for that price I'd assume it's at least 2GB. Venzero will also be releasing another unnamed player at IFA so make sure to come back once our IFA coverage kicks off.

Looks nice, great actually, but I have to wonder how user-friendly the firmware will be. Things i'd to see:

*Bookmarks
*User selected MSC
*Custom EQ

Erm, has DAPreview seen it in real life? review?

I saw this company's product line for quite sometime, but never see a real one.

Wonder is it good or not

Nope, we haven't seen their lineup yet. We may have someone over at IFA and hopefully get some hands-on. We'll see. I'll likely try and get a review unit as well and finally get some coverage of their players
