Teclast's T50 - Multitouch enabled iPod Touch Competitor?
comment: 10 | Tuesday, February 05 (2008) 01:00PM | Posted by Dominic
Teclast have announced another player to add to their increasing bevy of DAP's, the T50. The rendering (below) would have one believe that their designers are hard at work, quite an attractive device in my opinion.

There is very little information on this device, however according to thegadgetsite the T50 will support a capacitive touch-screen - which they explain as meaning a multtouch screen.

I do quite like this upon first glance, the design seems to improve upon the iPod Touch aesthetically, although it is just a rendering so whether the real thing can match the idea is up to Teclast.

The only revealed specs are for video playback: RMVB / RM / FLV / AVI and that the T50 will have video and audio independent dual-core processors - sparse info I know, but more will be revealed in the future.

If it is what they say it is, and looks how the rendering suggests, It will be a welcome competitor.

Would've liked it if it weren't for the inclusion of the iPod earbugs in much the same style as apple does it's work. Guys, be yourself, not Apple wannabe 345567, you might drill into a new market that'll work out better.

Also, UI looks bland and boring. The design of the player is better than the (Ugly, imo) Touch.

Companies should try to best Apple, not copy them.

Unfortunately, in the iTool dominated marketplace, copying them is the only way to get some action.

Looks pretty decent, though I wish it copied the added functionality the touch offered.

I hate to say it, but I 'm pretty certain that I'll be picking one of these up (in 16gb form).

Man! I'm such a Glutton For Punishment!

Oh...

And it has to be said:

In a beauty contest between this (prototype?) and the iPod Touch, the Teclast Is Simply A Stunner!

IMO
