LG announces the UP3 Touch

LG recently released a new USB-stick DAP called the "UP3 Touch". It has a stylish red and black casing, and red LED touch-sensitive controls that have a nice retro vibe to them. Aesthetics aside, the UP3 Touch doesn't bring anything new to the table. It has support for MP3, WMA, and Ogg, has a built-in FM tuner and recorder and will provide 15 hours of audio playback. Pretty much the same as the Samsung U3 actually.

The 2GB model will sell in Korea for 55,000 Won (~$40US) and the 4GB for 69,000 Won (~$51US)

This player would have taken the world by storm 8 years ago. Oh wait, is that the headphone jack on the side? Never mind.

Would be neater if the screen were slightly larger.

Nice looking little DAP, except for the HP jack, which is totally ridiculous.

When will companies realise that touch screens are a waste of money?
For a video player it is ok, but for a tiny music player it seems utterly pointless and impractical.

Its not a touch screen. Its a touch controller, big difference.

It'd be the funniest thing ever if that 4-line screen was touchscreen.

You'd need really small fingers or use a needle as a stylus...lol

Hee hee! OK, I'm pretty stupid. Still, without tactile buttons it's not so easy to use from your pocket, which is surely the point of small flash players.
