Sounds like a significant upgrade. I've never seen a firmware upgrade increase battery life. I don't have the S9 but I'm interested. I judge all MP3 players against Walkmans now. SO, how does this sound in comparison to the Walkman line?

Excellent. I've gotten word that Samsung is also planning another FW for the P3 soon. The Firmware wars continue!

I've played around with this firmware a bit more and it seems that Cowon has also modified the cover flow view. The albums load up much more quickly but it's still not as nice as the one on the iPod touch. I hope Cowon will completely revamp it, or maybe someone will make a theme that works smoothly. Nevertheless, I love my S9!

Am I the only one that uses a list, not coverflow or some coverflow knockoff to view songs?

No, it's a paperweight, not a POS

And still no O2 updates? Or is it just that people don't care very much?

If only it had the memory card slot .. May get a 32 GB one anyway..

I bring you news from my Fortress of Samsungitude.
In the next round of one-up-manship, the newest release of P3 firmware will rename the product to the S10! Take THAT! And to counter the DivX3 support (?!?), Samsung will add Cinepack and Intel Indeo codec support and release drivers for BeOS, NextStep and the Atari ST's TOS operating system.

Undesign, if coverflow is that function in the Apple commercials where you have to flick your finger across the screen to slowly flip through each album cover, then no, you're not the only one.

I must confess I spent some time and a lot of effort trying out open source cover art programs 'til I found a useable one and finally got all my music folders set up with cover art 'cause I thought I was missing out on something. Finally, cover art-equipped, I loaded up my Creative Zen, set it to browse by album cover, then... after 15 seconds couldn't figure out why anyone would want to do that. Searching by album title is so much easier, especially as you can jump to the first letter pretty easily with the Zen. And you don't have to worry about things like podcasts/Zencasts that don't have a cover image. When I capture people like DesignFabulous and Zip3 and... now you ... and bring them to the Fortress of Samsungitude to help me design my own homebrew DAP, the Zii3, coverflow is definitely NOT going to be on the feature list.

Just installed this. The fact that you're now able to use your own wallpaper makes it all worth it. It looks completely awesome on the screen...

And that widget screen is, as opposed to what others earlier suggested, usefull. It sort of brings all the things you actually use to one place, and let's you control them without actually opening their screens. However, it does have it's flaws. One would expect that double tapping on the music controlling widget would bring up the music screen, but it doesn't. This perticularly makes the photo-mini-slideshow widget useless, as you can't bring up the photo you want to full-screen.

I hope this issue will be adressed.

I'm curious if Cowon will ever implement a song-rating feature to any of their players in the future.
This shouldn't be hard to implement with a firmware upgrade.
