It's not easy being an editor of a
Creative fansite. I see other companies like Cowon and Samsung making sweet touchscreen devices, while Creative puts out things like the...
Zen Moo. Perhaps now we have something to get a little excited about. A recent FCC report was leaked, revealing an upcoming touchscreen player called the "Zii", as well as a developer model called the "Zii Egg". As many of you know, the
Zii is a powerful processing chip that Creative hyped a few months ago.
The mock-ups above look pretty similar to the back of an iPhone, but there's not much else to go on. So far we know the device will have built-in WiFi, Bluetooth, and will be equipped with an HD camera. It's possible that the Zii/Zii Egg will be running on Android as Creative showed off a tech
demo of the Zii chip playing HD video on Android at the Mobile World Congress back in February. It's nice to see Creative finally catching up, but I just wonder if it's too late. The Zii Touch will have to be amazing to compete with other upcoming players like the Zune HD. If the past is any indication, we may see this player announced some time in August.

Not going to get excited...just waiting to see how Creative screw this one up...I hope they don't, but my confidence in the company has never been lower.
