Sansa Fuze+ Leaked

Sandisk has been pretty quiet lately, but I suppose everyone else has too. Following the "Plus" edition of the Clip, it looks like they have plans to release a Sansa Fuze+ as well. Like the Clip+, this new Fuze isn't too different from the original. It supports the same formats, and even has the same estimated battery life of 24 hours.

It does come with a bigger and better screen however, going from a 1.9" LCD to a 2.4" OLED display. Max capacity has also been raised 16GB's. Additionally, Sandisk has replaced the circular D-pad found on the original for an "invisible" capacitive touch layout. Rounding out the changes is a long overdue makeover to the graphical interface. That's about all we know so far. We'll keep you updated once we get a release date and some pricing info.

Has a hint of the Rio Carbon look from that angle.

Not bad I guess for a little player.

Will we start seeing USB 3 on players soon?

Yeah, kinda like a Rio Carbon and Creative Zen:V mix.

This seems like a real disappointment to me, as I expected SanDisk to release a new player that would also include 32gb-64gb of internal memory. And the capacitive touch control? No thank you. Plus the battery life maxes @24hrs? By today's standards that sux.

I believe 24hrs is promised, what the real world times are I can't say.

with smartphones being ubiquitous and most of them are quite good with media, dedicated mp3 players and gps are getting squeezed out. That is why we are seeing little innovation.

Isn't that why we should see more innovation?

And I exclude slot radio/music in innovation. Shudder.

Sandisk.com has made it official:

There's also a demo video on their page showing the UI, although it's not (IMO) as "actual" as a user-review of it would be:

[Linky]

4GB is $79.99, 8GB is $89.99, and the 16GB model is $119.99.....not a bad price, and the microSD slot allows for up to nearly 50GB of integrated memory storage. If the Fuze+ still incorporates the great audio sound, then this is a pretty solid offering from Sandisk, IMO....

Can't tell from the video if the different colors of the UI are set and dependent on what menu screen the player is on, or if they are user-customizable: would be nice if it's the latter case....

DAPs and PMPs still have a market I guess for the younger crowd that's not quite capable of owning smart-phones, or even owning cell phones....

I have a friend that tested 1 of these baby's out at Best Buy, and he stated that the SQ is actually quite good. The touch pad is wonky tho, but it's not as bad as we'd assumed it would be. He had his Sony E Series player w/him, and his Panasonic RP-HJE900 IEM's. He used his own IEM's for the testing, and was impressed. I'll need to test a Fuze+ out myself now,...........
