Thanks, Koolshen

Looks pretty sleek to me, nothing fancy tho, maybe the price. Guess it will come to Holland soon, most of the products from medion and Aldi do eventually.

Seems like it has somekind of usb-on-the-go-thing.

Bilder von Digitalkameras lassen sich direktübertragen (z.B. zum Leeren der Kamera unterwegs)

(crappy kinda literally) TRANSLATION: Pictures from the digital cameras can be directly transmitted (for example to empty a digital camera)

I'm not sure of it. I'm not German.

A Moroccan in Belgium.

@Ojjorz Ik hoop dat die eerst in België komt :p

Replace "transmit" with "transfer" in the previous comment. Seems like my English isn't all that too.

Isn't there a way to edit your messages?

the translations are correct.. however that feature for the photos seems to be different from the iriver one.. the player isn't available yet so i dont know for sure but the player has a SD and MMC slot so i think transfering the photos means to pick the cameras SD/MMC card and put it into the player..

however theres nothing mentioned about a recording feature so i think i wont buy it..

Hmm.. I forgot to "unterwegs" what means "on the way" so they surely don't mean you can put pictures on it using a computer!

On the picture you can see 1 "port" on the leftside of the player. Maybe there's another (host-)port on te other side. I dunno.. Probably wil be just a card-slot just like alldis said.

I have some good experiences with Medion-products (usb-stick, camera). They're not top of the line but for the price you get a good product.

The 36months warranty looks also good!

If they come to Belgium I might check it out. But you have to be quick witch these cheap-Medion-Aldi products they get kinda quick sold out over here!

Yeah, but I'm a bit curious about the USB 2.0 connections (plural in the original text).
A changeable battery is a nice feature, though.

Well, my experience with Medion is, you never know the quality of what you buy.
Maybe this thing works ok, but it could also just suck.

hmm, 36 months warranty

On the other hand 199 Euro is a very good price for Europe if you consider the price for an iPod (249 Euro for the iPod mini).

Perhaps the "Aldipod" would be an alternative for some ppl.

On the german website it says "integriertes Mikrofon" what means "comes with integrated microphone". But there are no details on the recording capabilities.

They have Aldi here in Chicago. I see them advertising in the local sunday paper. Aldi is an alternative to grocery stores like Jewel and Dominicks and Cub and "Kroger" and "Albertsons". They have their own generic versions of groceries.

there's one (ALDI) not too far from where I work but I've never been in it, and it's the only one I've ever seen. i don't know if _anyone_ goes there. weird.

ALDI is the biggest dicount grocery chain in Germany. And the most successfull, their owners, The Albrecht brothers, are under the top five richest people in Germany. The company just came out as having the best consumer faith in its bang for the buck, modernity etc. It has a better standing than BMW in this regard.
MEDION is struggling a bit at the moment, they used to deliver the usual christmas PCs to ALDI during the last few years which made ALDI/MEDION to one of the biggest in computer sellers in Germany. But now the market is saturated and ALDI does not order that much nay more. They are famous not for their state of the art aproach but normally deliver a decent to low quality for rock bottom prices. I just bought a MEDION DVB-T hard disk recorder that was the cheapest one could get at the moment.

The HERE-link tells us it should be in stores by November 24. I am quite curious from the nice sparse look of it, unless there is a catch such as 2.5" hdd or something. Anyone in Germany care to go have a peek at it? As for German supermarkets Sweden only is blessed with Lidl which is quite awful...
