The iRiver H10 was introduced today in Seoul, Korea.

According to Yang Deok-joon, ReignCom (iRiver) president & CEO: "As Apple Computer’s influence in the global portable music player market is growing rapidly, iRiver seeks to restore Korea’s reputation as the global MP3 player powerhouse with the launching of the H10, our ambitious hard disc drive installed MP3 player...The H10 is the first MP3 player that is fully compatible with Microsoft’s PlaysForSure platform. All digital contents on Web portal sites that adopt the open platform, PlaysForSure, can be easily downloaded into the H10, whereas Apple’s iPod models adopt its own platform that is not fully compatible with PlaysForSure."

Its WMP 10 compatible, check out playforsure.com website.

Still iriver stinks when it comes to firmware upgrade.

PS: I was just wondering if this one has UMS capability.

What can I say, I like it! I think it will compete more with the Zen Micro than the iPod mini. Just converting the mm to inches, the H10 dimensions are about 3.75 x 2.1 x 0.6, so it's a little bigger than the other mini HD players.

Also, found here...

"Also, a change from the previous button controls, the touch scroll will be used for menu navigation and with the iriver plus program, it can automatically download music files and contents."

I would guess that iRiver has finally managed to program a music ripping/synching program. A good sign no doubt.

"Furthermore, there are functions like image (JPEG) and text (TEXT) viewer that enables it to function as an electronic album and as an e-book. Also, one can enjoy watching photos while listening to music at the same time."

At least you can now view photos and listen to music at the same time, unlike on the H300's.

i hope that gray is a dark gray. black would have been better though.

i'd love to test the navigation. hope theres no delay and the sensitivity is costumizable.

The gray one looks good enough to eat. Looks like Iriver is finally getting things right. Now I just want to see their high-capacity stuff.

iRiver rocks and iPod sucks. I would expect nothing but innovation from this company.

Removable battery, nice move. But for $344? Even the H320 can be found cheaper than that. They need to lower that to compete with Carbon, micro, and iPod mini. Players at this size need to be around $200, especially with 1GB flash players dropping in price.

IT WILL NOT BE $344 !!!! Those are just inflated korean prices....remember the mini is $250 and it has no color screen, fm, 5gb.

man. iriver has lost their edge on design. H10 loooks so cheap. You would think they come with something that is more up today's standards, instead of the retro rectangle shape. Look at rio and creative the zen micro, they certainly did their homework.
