About two-ish years ago Samsung openly declared their intent to dethrone the mighty Californian fruit and become the worlds No. 1 DAP manufacturer. While many of us were skeptical at the time Samsung clearly had a game plan, and although they have yet to accomplish their goal they are bringing out some absolutely delightful DAPs.

The K5 and K3 are some fine examples, both containing similar feature sets and gorgeous designs. Samsungs newest addition, the YV-150, hasn't deviated from that plan of great design. It is a well crafted, well design DAP come voice recorder.

The YV-150 comes with a hands-free mic and phone adapter, just to prove it is serious about recording . The built-in mic is at the top of the device, and built into the back is a rather decent speaker (apparently).

Here's the tickler folks, it runs on 2 AAA batteries and is capable of recording up to 66 of material, although that figure crashes to 16 hours recording when using the highest quality setting. Capacities are limited to 1 & 2gb, so that will be a let down for some, but at least Samsung are focusing on something other than just looks.
