The Venzero One looks kind of cool, offers weird features
comment: 18 | Thursday, April 20 (2006) 04:19PM | Posted by Robert Sinke
Hmm... this one's new to us. It's called the "Venzero ONE" and comes with its own list of specifications/features, as usual. Let's go through the list for a bit.
![]() Err... ok. Where the bleep did this come from? What's up with all RSS, "Shareport" and "Music Marker" stuff? Have you ever found it kind of odd that some MP3 players need all your music to be on one computer in a centralized music library before you can put any files on your device? We sure did, and so we developed Shareport, an easy way to transfer data to and from Venzero ONE using dual USB jacks. Sounds like USB-OTG to me, really. Maybe I've missed out on something, need to read up on all the stuff still. MusicMarker is a button on the side of Venzero ONE devices that, when pressed, records a short audio clip of the music that is playing around you. The audio clips are stored on the device until you get a chance to sync them up with a computer. The audio clips are then automatically uploaded to our servers which analyze the music samples you recorded, tell you the name of the artist and the song title, and help you find where to purchase the songs online. Hmmm... this is a pretty weird concept. We've seen similar technology being used in some Pc software applications, but in portable devices... can't say it's a very common feature. More or less reminds us of the Music Gremlin. Overall... we're all-in for innovation and slick designing, so we're keeping an eye out for this one. The website lists it as "available for pre-order" at a price of 289.90 Euro and mentions a planned shipping date of "mid-June". But who really knows, huh?
