Weird new Oracom player: UB-890
comment: 10 | Friday, May 12 (2006) 05:13PM | Posted by Robert Sinke
Oracom... hmm. Never heard of them? Well, we did report on their UB-880 less than six centuries ago, so there you have it. Seems like they're getting ready to output some additional relatively-cool stuff in quite the hot-looking bundle. Won't it melt?Anyway, the UB-890 looks a bit like that highly-anticipated Meizu M6, form factor-wise. This means it has a rather long-stretched color screen (seemingly not as big as the one on the M6), a controller mounted in the right-hand part and some chrome elements to perk things up. In other news, the controls seem to light up in a nice and red fashion once pressed. The guy who shot the pics compared the UB-890 to the iPod nano and some high-tech cellphone. Overall, seems to be quite an interesting player judging it by looks alone. We advice you to actually click the link below and form an image of the thing by looking at MPnavi's pictures... it's quite hard to explain this certain "X-factor" but by combining some of the (weirdly-cropped) photos, one should be able to understand our point of view. ![]() Specs? Errr. yeah. Good one. Haha. No, seriously, we don't have a clue. Probably has 1~4GB worth of flash memory on board while offering the usual Korean features like audio (Ogg Vorbis)/video playback, voice recording, FM tuner blah blah blah... we'll just keep you updated.
