Thomson PMP2008 - unknown, yet reviewed comment: 21 | Tuesday, September 19 (2006) 08:45AM | Posted by Robert Sinke Well have I never. Can't recall having stumbled across this thing before, but there you go: Thomson/RCA is one of those companies that comes up with the most random sApparrently, Thomson recently released a slender little flash DAP in China - it's called the "PMP2008" (2 years ahead of its time?) and doesn't look too bad at all. Okay, with the blue backlit controller switched off it looks like your average-day, "DigiArmor S20 meets iPod nano"-kind of DAP; but DAPs aren't supposed to be switched off anyway (another reason to own dozens and dozens of them!). So this Chinese website "PCOnline" came up with a nice little review of their own, revealing some of this thingy's specs while they were at it. Turns out to be a 1GB flash DAP (not sure if that's the ceiling level) with a 2-inch, 262k color screen and - lo and behold - a USB1.1 connector. In return, we get nothing less than TV-out, though. There's a 950mAh lithium(-something) battery in there, and the whole thing measures 100 x 55 x 10mm. Coming to theatres nowhere near you Lord-knows-when-and-why.
