Next from Meizu - MusicCard (M3)
comment: 17 | Tuesday, December 05 (2006) 09:04PM | Posted by Lone
From the looks of things, the folks at Meizu are prepping a new flash player to compete with the iPod nano and others, one which they'll call the MusicCard (or M3 for short).
The product name offers a bit of a clue into what Meizu's designers were going for: a card-shaped/sized device. The MusicCard is just 6.9 mm thick, putting its waistline on par with that of Apple's iPod nano (6 mm depth), and it's 1.5" display (with 176x132 px resolution) is the exact same size. The lone image we've seen so far doesn't show us the MusicCard's controls, but the translation mentions a touch-strip with 3 buttons. What else does Meizu's site list as this point? Well, battery life is a rated 20 hours, same as the M6 (which averaged around 16-17 hours in our testing). Codec support is still excellent, with FLAC and Ogg Vorbis support, along with MP3 and WMA, we presume. Capacities one up the M6's, with 2, 4, and 8 GB models featured in the article. In addition, there's said to be some "audio circuit optimization", making the sound field "even broader", with "more transparent timbre." Err, okay. If it sounds anywhere near as fantastic as the M6 did I think we'll be alright. ![]() LINK (Meizu.com) Forum discussion HERE Thanks to all who sent this in Latest Forum Posts
